It is our obligation to our country to sustainably conserve the environment. In the effort to support our government’s greening agenda, which seeks to plant 15 billion trees within 10 years, Jeremiah Nyagah Technical Institute takes advantage of every opportunity presented to plant trees within and close to its environs.
This move aimed at: reducing greenhouse emissions, stopping and reversing deforestation and, restoring 5.1 million hectares of deforested and degraded landscapes through the African Landscape Restoration Initiative which was launched on 22nd December 2022 by our National Government.
In the recent clean up, organized by the Modelling club and supported by the Scouting club and Student council, we were able to plant 5 flowering trees and an avocado tree at the Chief’s camp in Gachoka. The initiative dubbed, ‘Ngarisha Mtaa Initiative’ sought to bring together the community of Rwika in support of protecting and conserving the environment for a better and cleaner future. The clean-up and tree planting was guided by the Patron of the Rovers(JNTI Scouts club) and supported by the patron of the Modelling club and the dean of students office.
