Regional Drama Festivals




Jeremiah Nyagah Technical Institute recently took part in the 3rd KATTI Regional drama festivals held at Kigari Teacher’s Training college, Embu.

The festival, which was opened on 22nd February 2023, ran for a period of four days and was concluded on 26th February 2023. The festival attracted a high number of participating institutions and particularly recorded a high number of participants from Mt Kenya East region. The region had 14 institutions participating compared to the counterpart, Mt Kenya West which recorded 6 institutions.

Items that were presented in the competitions included; Choral verses, Solo verses, Plays, Mimes, Narratives, Modern dances and Cultural creative dance.

Jeremiah Nyagah Technical Institute stole the show with the outstanding Narrative, ‘Pamela Watamu Mwah , directed by  the patrons, Mr. Peter Kinyua and Ms. Kiogora Betty.

The narrative, performed by Alex Munene and Geoffrey Macharia scooped position one and won the institute a chance to compete at the national levels. In addition, other genres also put the institute at the top level including Mime, performed by Wilson Okaka and the modern dance which was also performed at Embu University Cultural Festival.
