The office of the Dean organized the training and induction of students into the JNTI Rovers scouting team. The training commenced on 13th of May to 15th May 2023 at the JNTI grounds. The training was officially opened by the chief principal, Mr. Simon C. Kivutih.

The purpose of the training was to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual, social and character potential a individuals as responsible citizen and members of their local national, regional and international community.

The training covered the following areas: scout history, law and promise, Jasira scout motto,knots and nashings, camping and meal preparation, first aid and health and flag raising.

16 students from the institute were involved in the training and 3 external trainers from the Kenya Scout office –Embu Division were contracted to carry out the exercise led by the Embu County Commissioner Madam Muthoni and Sub-commissioner, Mr. Nyaga. The external trainers were assisted by the school trainers Mr Martin Njuguna(DOS) and Madam Doris Ndwiga (CT).
