On 29th June 2023, Jeremiah Nyagah Technical Institute was honored to host esteemed guests who had visited from the Middle East.
That auspicious day saw the institute hosting Mr. Naim Maadad, the founder and CEO of Gates Hospitality, a home-grown hospitality group based in the United Arab Emirates, with award-winning concepts such as folly, Bistro Des Arts and Reform Social & Grill.
Mr. Maadad was accompanied by Madam Esther Mwaniki Mukami, a businesswoman who also lives and works in Dubai. The sole purpose of the visit was to hold a consultative forum with students, trainers and the administration of Jeremiah Nyagah Technical Institute on how hospitality trainees can be market ready for the global industry.
Mr. Maadad asserted that the hospitality industry is a force that cannot be extinguished and will always be on an upward trajectory, and therefore trainees in this industry should expand their minds, have the right attitude and should never underestimate the powers of success and influence.
The consultative forum focused on the attitude of the trainees, willingness to learn and also how the current curriculum can be supplemented to meet global hotel industry level.
He encouraged students to invest in themselves: through learning and engaging with others.
This visit was facilitated by the Embu County Senator,Hon. Munyi Mundigi, who was represented by his personal assistant, Mr. Ben Mwaniki.
Accompanied by Mr. Maadad and Madam Esther, were the directors of Embu college, Mr. Paul Mugendi and Mr. Tom Kiragu.
Also present were the Chief Principal, Mr. Simon C. Kivutih, who reiterated the need for students to be open minded, committed and willing to expand their horizons. The Deputy principal Administration, Mr. Ismael Ndaru, hospitality and Tourism section deputy head, Mr Paul Miano and other trainers were also present for this consultative forum.
