Following the directive by the government to streamline academic departments in all technical institutes, Jeremiah Nyagah Technical has implemented eight departments as per this directive. One crucial department that has generated quite an interest is the Applied Science Department. 

Applied science department, which was initially combined with ICT now stands on its own. This department seeks to train individuals who desire to pursue careers as lab technicians, cosmetic product developers, public health lab technicians, and chemical analysts.

The new department offers courses in: Analytical chemistry, Applied biology and Science lab technician.

The department is also well vested in student learning experience as it organizes educational tours such as visiting the national museum to study skeletons and remains of extinct animals as part of their training.
