COMMISSIONING OF JITUME LABS
The 31st of May was a special day for JNTI with the lunching of the Jeremiah Nyaga technical institute Konza Digital skills laboratory.
The auspicious event saw the institute receive the Information Communications and the Digital Economy CS Eliud Owalo, PS Eng. John Tanui as well as the Embu county Governor Hon. Cecily Mbarire to launch the digital lab.
Among the 11 country wide institutions slated to be National polytechnics the Jeremiah Nyaga Technical institute is one of them making it a key space for Digital skills training. Speaking during the event the CS said Digital labs are part of the Kenya kwanza government initiatives.
The government through the Ministry of Information Communications and the Digital Economy seeks to establish and operationalize digital labs within TVET’s for the youth to access digital skills. This move aims to turn Kenya into a digital economy.
The skills lab is open to students, trainers and the community. Through the labs individuals can be able to apply online jobs and improve their economic status. Training will commence in the institute soon and are scheduled to be on weekdays and part time on weekends.
